Convenient gauge

| Outside dia of dial head is 1.95"; valve connector extends several inches for total end-to-end length of 4.5". Heavy, solid feel. Holds reading till release button is pressed--convenient. Reading agrees with that of new "pencil" style gauge (at 70-80 psi). Prefer to carry smaller, lighter "pencil" gauge when riding and use this gauge at home. I've used only with Schrader valves. |

| This guage is exactly what I needed and is very easy to use. It comes with a presta-valve adapter which i took off and have not tried but it works like a charm on my schrader valve! |
Stout, Accurate, Easy-To-Read Air Pressure Gauge

First off, let me say I use this air pressure gauge on the Schrader valves on my hybrid bike, and it works flawlessly. While there is a screw-on adapter that is purported to be for Presta valves, I have not used it on any, so I cannot speak to if this gauge works well with Presta valves or not.
That disclaimer aside, I have to say I love this pressure gauge. It seems well made, having a little bit of heft in my hand. It is accurate compared to the built-in pressure gauge in my Lezyne floor pump (I keep my bike's tires at 80 PSI). It has a very readable dial with a crystal-clear lens. Having had the gauge for only a few weeks, I do not know how scratch-proof it will be long-term, but I have not noticed any scratches after using it & sliding it in & out of my saddle bag. Finally, when taking a reading, the needle stays in place until released with a little button on the side of the stem. Nice for making readings easier to see.
Bottom line is this air pressure gauge is all I wanted / needed at an affordable price. I would definitely recommend it to a (Schrader valve using!) friend. |
Great gauge for Schrader valves

I saw the other reviews saying this gauge doesn't work well with Presta valves. I have only standard/Schrader valves on my gear, and it works very well on them, so this is an ideal gauge for me.
It's got heft and feels well made. The dial is easy to read. And it stops on the reading until you press the release button to reset it.
I like that it is completely manual and non-electronic -- no having to replace batteries or deal with a too-fast automatic shutoff cycle. Plus it's easy to read in sunlight, unlike some digital gear. |
Nice, easy to use and read without bending over.

This is a sweet tire gauge, it was shipped quickly, arrived in great condition, this fits the Schrader and Presta valve stems, I like that it measures pounds not 5,10,15 and so on as some pump gauges do.
I had purchased a large floor Bell Pump with a gauge before I bought this and paid $8 more for a pump with a gauge than without one just to have a rough idea of what my pressure really was, the Planet Bike dial gauge will give me exact pounds and remain at that pressure so you can stand and read it before pushing a button to release-reset to zero.
This is a heavy gauge with a nice clear glass or plastic dome shape top like a watch, it is difficult to find anything that feels so real anymore.
